Rick and I are very happy to announce that we are reviving Dragon's End. It will now be known as Dragon's End Motorcycle Enterprises. Starting in mid-February 2009, there is a one-room cabin available for rent. It sleeps two people and has incredible views of the lake and mountains.
There is also a small toy hauler with full amenitiies for rent. Again with a lovely view of the mountains and lake.

because we will be closed this year. We will greatly miss the fun we've had meeting all the folks who have stayed with us over the past two years. However, we have some travel and work opportunities that we are looking forward to, so we will not be opening in 2007. My Cape Cod Vacation

While Rick was on the Transamerica Trail, I closed the B&B for a few weeks and went to my favorite summer spot. It was the first road trip for the dogs, but they acted like seasoned travelers. We had a great time as these photos show.

In September Rick left for a 4 week ride on the Transamerica Trail. It is roughly 4700 miles of dirt roads from Jellico, TN to Port Orford, OR. It was an incredible trip that still has a smile on his face. The trip was loosely documented on a website called www.advrider.com Under Ride Reports and Pics, Pics, Pics look for a thread called Traveling with the Circus. Here are just two of my favorite pics from the trip.

It can't be Thanksgiving already

Where did the year go? It doesn't seem all that long ago, it was the middle of summer. Now all the leaves are off the tress and we are pulling out our woolies! The old saying must be true...Time flies when you are having fun! This year Rick and I had a blast. We had a summer filled with the nicest, most interesting guests. Rick had an incredible adventure ride. He did the Transamerica Trail from Jellico, TN to Port Orford, OR... 4700 miles on dirt roads. Our little fuzzy-faced friends and I had our own adventure going to Cape Cod. Here is a view of Buzzard Roost from our front porch. It's our favorite place to sit and enjoy our morning coffee.

After some technical difficulties and a very steady stream of guests, I'm making time to share some updates. Rick and I are having a great time with all of our guests. Meeting new people is the absolute best part of having a B&B! We've been told that there needs to be some photos of the lake and sunsets on here. So here is a recent photo looking up river. The weather has been beautiful...perfect for riding.

The Art of the Motorcycle

We have taken some well deserved time off to travel and enjoy sunny Florida. One of our stops was the Orlando Museum of Art to see the exhibit "The Art of the Motorcycle." This is a smaller version of the New York show from a few years ago. Like everyone else, it was hard for us to obey the "do not touch the motorcycle" signs. Here's Rick with the Easy Rider bike. I liked the early Ninja. This is really a great show and a must see for motorcycle enthusiast.

Signs of Spring!

Two weeks ago we were enjoying snow, and now we are celebrating a couple of 70 degree days. There are even some early flowers showing up in the garden. I realize this is a pitiful looking flower bed, but next years' spring garden should be much more impressive. We are just happy for the little bits of color that are coming up. This warm spell is not going to last long, so get out and ride while you can.

Just wanted to show how much differnce there is between the amount of snow received here at Dragon's End (see previous post) and just 11 miles away at the Overlook.

After 3 days of watching the weathermen say that the big one was coming, we woke up to about an inch of snow this morning...alittle disappointing but beautiful. Here's the Dragon's End in snow.

Our guest will definitely remember Girl Dog, our official greeter. Not long ago she brought home a friend... large, beautiful black lab. Well, she knows how to pick her friends because he is as sweet a dog as she is. So we now have two official greeters, Girl Dog and Black Dog.

Welcome to our under construction website. The B&B is closed for the winter, but we are busy preparing for the upcoming riding season. January was a very mild month that even afforded us the opportunity to ride a few days, but February is feeling like winter. We awoke to the first (very) little snowfall of the year. More snow is actually forecast for the weekend. So we will be continuing to plan what we can do to make Dragon's End an enjoyable place to be based while riding the incredible roads that are nearby and trying to stay warm.
